Crossley Assured
The Ableton Live 8 set for this track has no “Snare”,”Hi-Hat” or “Bass” tags on it.
It has “Trrrrchxq”,”EhMinus” and “Tcházzzss” instead.
It is the result of yesterday’s and todays work on the “Bassline” that was posted here yesterday.
The only “external” source added to the track is still the 808 kick drum.
Apart from that everything is coming from the same .wav file of my recorded statment made for a podcast about a project that ran on Indaba.com.

What can I say? Is this all from your voice, aside from the 808 drum? It’s v.good and makes me think of musical roadworks. My only criticism is that I would like some slightly more melodic frequencies in amongst the robotic sounding ones. Nice idea though… can I borrow it?
First up – and very important – not really sure I should be commenting, given your experience, knowledge and obvious talent. I’ve been doing this for less than six months. But, you asked!
Given the nature of this track and that you’ve created all the sounds organically, you *have* to build your own bass drum too
A truly original piece and despite the machine-like sequence and repetition (the military precision makes me want to march or strut), the clearly human sounds add tremendous character.
I’m with James too. The re-introduction of more rhythmic elements around 3’00″ is great but I think it could be lifted again around 4’00″ with the introduction of a brand new frequency / melody.
Top work Fernando.
