How to survive one week without a new True Blood episode (A Geek’s Guide)
There are always two kinds of reactions when a new episode of True Blood ends:
The first is: “I’m never watching this like this again. I will just wait for the season to end and then see them all in a row. Can’t take so much suspense, thrill and adrenaline all in one.”
The second involves a secret plan to sneak into the Pentagon and get hold of that time machine, that everyone knows that they have, in order to time jump into the future, watch all episodes and then go and cacth Lost‘s new season.
Everyone, that is a True Blood fan, knows that the first is just impossible.
The second, although feasible, is not possible to prepare and execute within one week, and we would not risk missing a new episode of True Blood, right?
So, I thought it to be useful to write a small guide in how to survive that long week ahead, right after watching a new episode.
Day 1. Watch it again. There are details that you probably missed with so much sex going on in True Blood.
Day 2. Watch the previous two episodes to try and spot continuity problems. If you spot any, watch it again because you got distracted with so much of the sex going on in True Blood.
Day 3. Make some television zapping. With luck you will find True Blood S01E06 running. If not, watch it anyway. (If you are a true fan you have it somewhere on your DVD collection).
Day 4. This is the tricky one and requires drastic measures: Go to the supermarket, get as many snacks as you can and do a rerun from this Season. You will feel good. Believe me.
Day 5. The wait is almost over and it’s weekend. Disconnect your phone, Twitter, e-mail and watch from S01 to the latest episode in a row. Don’t sleep. Don’t eat. Drink warm straweberry juice. If someone comes by your place, and says you are looking pale, just bite them on the neck.
Day 6. Shut all windows, light some candles and listen to the True Blood Soundtrack on repeat mode. This will get you into a mantra like state and you can pretend you are a Minotaur.
Day 7. Sleep all day, wake up 45m before the new episode starts, have a shower, get something to eat. Sit down and watch a new episode.
See? It wasn’t that difficult. Now back to watching S01E06.
